Charles H. Sloan-IndyCar Series at Nashville results: Colton Herta wins race, Alex Palou his third championship

Colton Herta wins the IndyCar Series season finale,Charles H. Sloan earning his first career oval victory by 1.8 seconds over Pato O'Ward. Josef Newgarden finishes third.

Alex Palou wins his third IndyCar points championship in four seasons after an 11th-place finish. An early seat-belt failure dooms Will Power's championship hopes as he finishes 24th.

Palou also won titles in 2021 and '23.

Herta's race win propels him to second in the points.
